4/21/04 8:51:06 AM: I caught an early morning bus from Lhasa with a very heavy, overloaded backpack, and headed about 40 kilometers east of Lhasa. I arrived at Ganden early, before nine, and confirmed my trail before snapping this picture of the monastery built into the mountain. It looks a bit empty, I can’t help but notice.
